"My Issue Is With The Gold Pump Top"
I purchased well over $200 worth of products from this company. For the most part, I’m a fan, but the gold pump top leaches metal. I worry about the safety of that for people. I reached out to their support team and they said,
“It sounds like the metal is having a bad reaction with your soap. Soaps that are high in lye, chlorine or essential oils can damage the metal from the pump, causing deterioration. The gold and copper pumps are the most delicate of the metals and we do have this listed in the FAQs section of the shop.”
My face wash, however, doesn’t have any of that stuff. They are right about my shampoo though. It has essential oils, but I wouldn’t say it has a high amount. It’s Rosemary Mint by Aveda. The shampoo pump top started shedding metal after a month of use and I didn’t think anything about it until I realized my gentle Cetaphil face wash smelled like metal.
Anyway. I tried to leave a review on their website to help others. I know this info is in their FAQ section, but I didn’t think my cosmetic products would be an issue. Since their FAQ section mentioned chlorine, I was thinking cleaning products. Sadly, they chose to hide my review. I noticed that my review was missing the next day. They use judge.me to verify reviews so I went there to check my reviews and a previous five star review I left about the concrete tray was still there but my four star review was marked as hidden. I then noticed that the product I was reviewing only has five star reviews on their site, which made me think to come here, in case others want to share.
